Please take a moment to read an important letter from Bob Anderson, Croton United candidate for Trustee.
Please note the following facts:
THE EXPLOSION OF DEBT UNDER THE WIEGMAN DEMS
Mr. Anderson's letter was published in the 9/24/15 edition of THE GAZETTE.
To the Editor, I was surprised that in his letter last week, Croton Dems Chair Paul
Rolnick did not offer an apology to Croton taxpayers for writing one of
three separate letters to this paper falsely claiming that Croton’s bond
rating had improved under the Wiegman administration (the other
two were from candidate Andy Levitt and Trustee Brian Pugh). My
statement that the Wiegman Dems misled the voters regarding the
village’s bond rating is not an accusation; it’s a fact.
Rolnick is right that there are “challenges ahead,” but the most urgent
and important challenge will be dealing with the financial consequences
of his party’s explosion in borrowing. Croton United’s plan to end the
profligate borrowing of the Wiegman Dems and to bring sustainable fiscal
management back to the village is a true positive vision for the future
of Croton. READ MORE HERE http://on.fb.me/1YGpYqH

It was a packed house today for the opening reception of The Croton Historical Society's latest exhibit: "GET READY FOR AN EARTHQUAKE, THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW US ROUTE 9, THE DESTRUCTION OF CROTON LANDING."
Museum
curator, Thomas Simone, Dodie Pezanowski, Denis Lund, and the outstanding volunteers of The Historical Society have put together one of the best shows ever--an amazing portrait
gallery of Croton before the construction of the new Route
9, as well as a display of ephemera from businesses displaced by the road, and a
big screen multi-media presentation that recreates the old
Riverside Avenue Community. The presentation also includes aerial
photographs of Croton before the road was built, maps showing the
properties taken for the road, construction pictures and images of
Route 9 today. The entire exhibit is available on CD--as are some other past exhibits from the Society. For more info on that, click on the link http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2015/08/now-available-from-croton-historical.html
Lots of energy at the "Museum" today! Old and lots of new Croton residents too--and visitors from as far away as Banghor, Maine and would you believe, an ex-pat from Hong Kong too! Click on the photos below.
And congratulations to THE CROTON HISTORICAL SOCIETY for a super job well done.
