Gloria Swanson was one Croton's most notable residents. She lived on Mt. Airy Road--(you can see an article with exterior shot images at EverythingCroton: 1924, PHOTOS FROM GLORIA SWANSON'S CROTON HOME).
We stumbled upon these publicity shots from a 1926 film she did called FINE MANNERS. She played a Burlesque chorus girl named Orchid Murphy who attracts the attention of wealthy Brian Alden (Eugene O'Brien). READ MORE ABOUT IT HERE.
For those who don't know: Yale Joel began his career as a professional photographer when he was 19 years old, he served as a combat photographer during World War II, and several years later became a member of the famous LIFE magazine photography staff.
