There was the trip to Swanson's for daffodils, lilies and of course, to order Mom's orchid corsage. Friday nights during Lent meant fish from Cole's Market or a night out for "fried flounder" at "the diner", Easter cards, chenille chicks, and chocolate came from Pop Berger's--while straw baskets, plastic eggs, lace-trimmed ankle socks (to go with those new Easter shoes) and other assorted odds and ends came from Elliott's and the old Grand Union (DON'T FORGET THOSE TRIPLE S BLUE STAMPS!)
