As many of you are aware, graffiti continues to escalate in the village (and on the Route 9/9A highway wall abutting the North Riverside - Waterfront area as well). Photos have been sent to the village on assorted occasions.
This escalation became especially evident throughout the 2020 lockdown days and even now in the spring of 2021 (click here for just one of many recent examples--April 2021--please note that in the example shown, the entire wall has been re-painted and remains graffiti-free, at least for the moment). Some of this graffiti has been/or is---political in nature--mirroring current protests---some obscene, some profane, and other examples are just the usual tags and such. Let it suffice to say that photos and police reports are on file.
To those who have written about the latest graffiti, however--an extremely violent and hateful anti-police image--village staff have been made aware of the location. The photo will NOT be printed here.
Once again, the purpose of this post is to encourage you to report the location of any new graffiti to the village when you come across it---and to provide photographs when possible until---and IF--the miscreants are found and....prosecuted. Further questions and comments should be directed to village staff.
