On this date in 1953
"How to Marry a Millionaire" directed by Jean Negulesco, starring
Lauren Bacall, Betty Grable and Marilyn Monroe, and the first movie to
be filmed in CinemaScope, was released.
In this romantic comedy,
Grable. Monroe and Bacall are three gold diggers...the film also starred
William Powell, David Wayne, Rory Calhoun, and Cameron Mitchell.
Although Grable received top billing in the screen credits, Monroe's
name was listed first in all advertising (click on the photo), including
the trailer.
