THE DANISH HOME IS CLOSING, ANOTHER COVID CASUALTY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, Everything Croton.

The Board of Directors of the Danish Home for the Aged, Inc. announces it will cease operation of its adult care home effective December 31, 2020. Due to operational challenges, the Board determined that the best course of action is to surrender its operating license and transfer our residents to new residences. A Closure Plan has been approved by the New York State Department of Health.

The Home has proudly served the community since 1906, providing a respectful and peaceful home for our elders. In light of the complexities of operating a licensed adult home in the current environment, the Board has determined this is the most responsible option. The Home's staff are proud of the care and compassion they have provided to our residents over the years and will sincerely miss what has become their extended families. The Home's primary focus is to ensure the well-being of our residents as they relocate to their new homes.

Finally, the Home, Board, staff and residents and their families are indebted to those individuals across this country and Denmark who have generously supported our operations for more than a century. We are proud of the care we have afforded our residents and their families over the years, and we intend to close out this chapter in the Home's legacy by maintaining this high standard; by focusing on our residents' needs and dignity.
