REZONING ISSUES CONTINUE, 11/28 GAZETTE ARTICLE, HIGHLIGHTS ONLY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton -- our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship -- in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

REZONING ISSUES CONTINUE, 11/28 GAZETTE ARTICLE  p.3, highlights only: ‘Croton trustees seek more info on Katz property’

AS ALWAYS YOU SHOULD READ THE ARTICLE IN ITS ENTIRETY. THE GAZETTE IS ON SALE JUST ABOUT EVERYWHERE.

Croton trustees' plan to re-consult BFJ on how to make development of the Katz property more attractive to developers w/o any commercial/retail and limit negative env. impacts. Supposedly,  w/o commercial, the property could accommodate  40 multifamily units or "up to 80" IF a "structured parking facility"were added somewhere.

Re the expansion to 3 stories while keeping the (2-story) 35 tall building height, article points out residents' comments regarding the giant house on Grand St. that conforms to the 35' reg. BUT allowed raising the ground level on which it stands.

Beyond just the Katz property, article reports on concerns of Hamilton Ave and Barton Place re a previously proposed 3-story building on S.Riverside replacing the former Croton hardware store because it would give residents a view into their backyards and houses. So more than just concerns about river views...

A former PB member chairing the committee that updated Croton's recent Comprehensive Plan (who worked with BFJ on the current plan) "discounted" residents' assertions at the most recent public hearing.

VB members thought it would be a good idea to walk the Katz property............Again, you should always read the articles in their entirety.
