Affectionately known as ‘Pal’ John and Uncle Gadget by his nieces and
nephews, John leaves behind a large, caring extended family.
John always referred to himself as a citizen of the world. Born in
England, moved to the mid-west as a baby and then to Ireland for his
teenage years.
Through school and after graduation John continued to
travel and then made London his home and started his career. In 1998
John moved to New York and settled in Croton on Hudson the next year.
John played an active role in the community including volunteering for
AYSO and Croton Little League, being part of the Croton EMS and joining
the Knights of Columbus.
John loved the Shannon, Hudson and Croton Rivers, be it fishing,
boating, kayaking or just watching the sun set over the water. Whether
in Chicago, Galway, London or New York John enjoyed playing and
listening to music, especially in the company of good friends. And he
was a staunch Liverpool supporter.
John will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
