First up, an oldie but goodie, courtesy of our friend Jim Griffin, a neat old photo of NYC's Orchard Street--January 1936. For those who don't know, Orchard Street was first known as Klein-deutschland, or "Little Germany," later a Jewish enclave, the neighborhood has been home to immigrants from the mid 19th Century to the present day...The street is known for its discount shopping.  -- Wikipedia

It's followed by December 1940 toy window, sliced into a close-up so you can appreciate all the vintage plush goodness.
