Then check out the 1979 Jim Beam Circus Wagon Decanteur discovered for a dollar a few years back! In mint condition, with the box. A piece of playful 70's kitsch that will go great somewhere at some time--we just haven't found the right "moment"!
That's followed by some of our favorite vintage tin toys made in Japan--usually from the 50's and 60's. The graphics on the boxes were often as neat as the toys themselves--and many surviving examples of vintage MIJ toys can fetch some handsome prices when they come to market--the bubble blowing lion is from the 1950's, made by MT (Modern Toys), Japan.
The Dancing Merry Chimp is from the 1960s, (Kuramochi Co.), Japan, 11", tin & fabric, battery operated.
