The melodramatic romance and World War I epic The Big Parade (1925) is one of MGM's all-time biggest hits and one of the classics of the silent film era. John Gilbert plays a young American soldier, who witnesses the horrors of 'the Great War'. French actress Renée Adorée and Danish actor Karl Dane co-starred and King Vidor was the director.
