SARCONE--OFFICIALS SHARE SENTENCE FOR MAN THAT ASSAULTED AGENT

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship------in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — Federal agents shared that Michel Manuel Garcia Rojas was sentenced to 51 months in prison for assaulting a federal agent. Rojas plead guilty on February 9. He was originally arrested by Rotterdam police for trying to steal $150 worth of groceries while trying to hide some food at the register under a child.

Because Rojas illegally entered the country in 2023, federal agents were allowed to take custody of Rojas. First Assistant US Attorney John Sarcone said the incident took place when Rojas was being transferred to federal agents.

“Any defendant who seeks inspiration from Mr. Garcia Rojas should be on notice,” said Sarcone. “If you assault a federal agent or any member of law enforcement, this administration will leverage the weight of the federal government.” MORE AT Officials share sentence for man that assaulted agent
