SARCONE: ITHACA MAN FACES FEDERAL CHARGES FOR CHILD EXPLOITATION

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

ITHACA, N.Y. (WSYR-TV) — A 42-year-old Ithaca man was arrested and charged with enticement of a minor and distribution of child pornography.

David Pastorello is accused of sending text messages to a girl under the age of 12, repeatedly requesting that the child have sex with him.

He is also accused of sending the victim indecent images of himself, two images of child pornography and entering the victim’s apartment without permission before running away.

Acting U.S. Attorney John Sarcone III said that the state authorities failed by letting Pastorello, who had a history of trouble with the law for similar charges, out of custody.  “His new crimes demonstrate how dangerously unwise that decision was,” Sarcone said.
