FOR OUR VETERANS IN LIGHT OF THE U.S. AFGHANISTAN "EXIT"

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools, our houses of worship--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

In light of the current administration's Afghanistan "exit",  local military families report that they have received the following email from the VA.  Your editor has been asked to pass these resources along.  Many of our veterans are going to have some rough mental health days ahead of them especially as we approach the 20th Anniversary of the Islamist terrorist attacks.  The complete VA email is available upon request.

Also FYI: the VA facebook page is https://www.facebook.com/VeteransAffairs/

Veterans from all eras are reacting to the events in Afghanistan, such as the U.S withdrawal and the takeover by the Taliban.

You are not alone.

Veterans may question the meaning of their service or whether it was worth the sacrifices they made. They may feel more moral distress about experiences they had during their service. It’s normal to feel this way. Talk with your friends and families, reach out to battle buddies, connect with a peer-to-peer network, or sign up for mental health services.
