CROTON'S MEMORIAL DAY PARADES, THE 1970s

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Everything Croton had a special request from a former village resident who has fond memories of the "amazing Memorial Day parades Croton used to have in the 60's and 70's, now long gone".

No photos from the 60's (check the Croton Historical Society directly for those) but happy to oblige with photos and ephemera from the 1970's collected here at the blog. Click on the images below.

  1. The right half of my mother's face (Florence Simone) can be seen as she holds the Fox-Eklof Post flag. The woman seen in profile, second from the right, is my dad's cousin Helen Dailey, whose son died in the Korean War.
