PASTOR APPRECIATION DAY

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

Pastor Appreciation Day, also known as Clergy Appreciation Day, is being observed today! It has been observed the second Sunday in October since 1992.

And so, it seems appropriate to remember--especially with yesterday's release of Pastor Andrew Brunson from Turkey--just a few of the many special pastors Croton has had over the years, both Catholic and Protestant (click on the 1958 photo for Our Saviour's Rev. Frederick Gotwald; it's followed by a 1983 blessing of the animals at St. Augustine's Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Wayne). Stay tuned for more.

  1. Looks like those sanctions did the trick. So thankful that our President and his staff brought Brunson back home. Guilty of the crime of Christianization? Is there anything more to say?
