As many of you know, JACKIE GLEASON lived in the Town of Cortlandt and was a frequent Croton visitor. Check out this original black and white still from THE HONEYMOONERS SIGNED BY GLEASON AND ART CARNEY--recently featured in an auction at Croton's own SeriousToyz. Here's a great shot of Croton's Gloria Swanson from the 1933 edition of PICTURE PLAY MAGAZINE. 

The caption reads: 

"INCOMPARABLE GLORIA! Denying that she is financially pinches, Gloria points to her husband and children as proof of her wealth. 

Yet she fails to include among her assets that indomitable spirit which, even more than her family, will keep her on top---where she belongs! Dauntless Gloria!"

And finally, Croton's own Yale Joel, an outstanding photographer whose long career with Life Magazine earned him critical acclaim.

Working out of the LIFE bureaus in Washington, Paris, Boston and New York, he established an early reputation as a photographer of the "impossible," with his ability to create camera perspectives the ordinary eye normally cannot see.
