How many of you remember those fabulous--and sometimes maddening--model kits made by the Aurora Plastics Corp.?

Known primarily for its production of  airplanes and automobiles (click on the photo from a previous visit to Croton's own SERIOUSTOYZ FOR THE GREEN HORNET'S BLACK BEAUTY), as well as TV and movie figures in the 1960s (especially MONSTERS!), it's principal competition in modeling were various other plastic modeling firms like Revell and Monogram.  YOU CAN READ MORE ABOUT AURORA HERE

And check out this outstanding flickr album of vintage Aurora Model Kits courtesy of KLAATUCARPENTER here.

  1. These were the bane of my existence growing up. I always had leftover parts and it seemed they never gave you enough glue.
