MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

Made in Japan Christmas kitsch from the 50's, 60's & 70's is said to be an acquired taste. But for a lot of us die-hard collectors, that's simply not the case! We love the whimsy--for lack of another word.

To the right is a revolving musical "novelty house" made from wood, cardboard, styrofoam, etc. circa 60's, 70's.
It's flanked by large vintage bottle brush trees and a pair of red flocked plastic deer, also made in Japan.

That's followed by another revolving musical bit of Japanese Christmas kitsch: the Choir Boys--it plays Silent Night--many of these pieces often do. That, and Jingle Bells.

And finally, while Easter is over, a 2014 Easter Village putz. Click on the photos and enjoy.

If you collect Christmas films for viewing at the holidays, we just have to recommend one called CHRISTMAS ORANGES, based on the book by Ben Sowards and Linda Bethers (https://deseretbook.com/p/christmas-oranges-linda-bethers-8207); it's a very sweet film--no pun intended--and stars Edward Hermann and Nancy Stafford. It's available on Amazon http://amzn.to/1HqBqjn

  1. That top photo is very inspiring. I have a small battery operated turntable and celluloid deer. Hmmmmmmm. Maybe Howard can whip up a pattern!
