MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

A really neat photo from Carolyn's collection: Rockaway Beach circa 1900, no known restrictions on publication. Click on the photo and check out the sign that says LADIES BANGS CURLED--for only 15 cents! Guess curled bangs must have been all the rage!

And if you are in Croton on 10/2/14, stop by the Croton Library at 7pm when the Croton Friends of History and the library will present LOST AMUSEMENT PARKS OF NYC, BEYOND CONEY ISLAND.  Authors and educators Barbara and Wesley Gottlock will help us discover the thrills of the past from the lost amusement parks of New York City. http://www.crotonfriendsofhistory.org/

Vermont Country Store has repros of those Halloween blow-molds we remember from the 60's cast from the original molds.

  1. Just looking at those women in those long sleeves and skirts make me unbelievably hot.

  2. I guess if the heat and humidity took the curl out of your hair, you could get a quick refresh. Considering that you were wearing a hat or bonnet, that would be all you needed. I'll have to try to repro this. Thanks - Paul
