9/5/13 JOURNAL NEWS  - STONY POINT Stony Point is selling cell-tower leases for $2.2M; Croton continues renting (video) - The town has decided to sell its cell-tower leases for more than $2 million, while other municipalities opt to keep collecting monthly rents for their towers...“We don’t find it financially beneficial to the village,” said village engineer Daniel O’Connor. “If the village needed a lump-sum payment to pay our bills, like Detroit or something like that, we may need the lump-sum payment, but the village has a very good credit rating and we can borrow through the municipal bond market with good grades.”Croton earns $2,800 a month for the cell tower in the train station parking lot, and $2,400 a month each for two slots in the Village Hall attic."   1. Wow, so it's better to borrow then? The kind of thinking that has gotten this country into so much trouble. Don't worry though. Harmon rezoning will make us plenty of money.
