1973, CROTON'S 75TH ANNIVERSARY: THE CROTON-CORTLANDT NEWS SPECIAL EDITION PART 1

Welcome to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.

About a year ago we were sent some very battered pages from the Croton-Cortlandt News special edition in honor of the village's 75th Anniversary (August 1973). We'll be sharing those restored pages with you over the next few weeks. Here's the first installment; click on the photos below.

  2. When I look at how much we celebrated our village anniversary in the 40's and the 70's compared to how poorly we celebrated our village centennial not long ago, I am just amazed at the difference. Thank you for sharing.

  3. I have to agree. Compared to out celebrations of yesterday, that centennial was awful. All this said, thank you so very very much for doing this. My wife and I are really looking forward to seeing more. We courted at Gallaghers.

  4. Remember the parades, the shows, the specials throughout the village, the banners, the lights, now that was how a town celebrated. Thank you.
