UPDATED: LOHUD---Two Westchester school districts were targeted by a cyber security attack on school-based desktops and laptops that kept students learning at home. The Yorktown and Croton-Harmon districts both fell victim to a security breach on Monday that took days to iron out. In a communication to district families, Croton-Harmon Superintendent Deborah O'Connell said the incident was a ransomware attack. Croton-Harmon UFSD has experienced a cyber-security attack that was identified and isolated earlier today. This particular attack has been confirmed to be a ransomware attack. EduTek technicians were on site this morning and have been working throughout the day to neutralize the event and at this time, they are working diligently to safely and securely restore servers from backups and return services to full capacity with integrity. This includes assessing each laptop and workstation. Chromebooks and iPads were not affected.
The District currently subscribes to systems that are designed to provide early detection and alert us of any suspicious activity. As a result, this threat was quickly identified, and access to our network systems was shut down immediately. At this point, no evidence indicates that personally identifiable information has been compromised.
Therefore, tomorrow, Tuesday, October 13, 2020, all students at CET, PVC, and CHHS will be on a remote schedule and will not report to the building due to the ongoing work of our Edu Tek technicians throughout the district. Faculty and staff will receive a separate email with details. We will provide an update as more information becomes available.
Lunch will be available for all students. Students who would like to pick up a bagged lunch (free of charge), are asked to complete our remote lunch order request form. Lunches will be available for pickup at the PVC Welcome Center between the hours of 11 am and 12 pm tomorrow. Please see some school-specific information below:

The school day will start at 8:00 AM with a morning meeting and morning announcement at 8:20 AM for all students. All instruction including specials will occur remotely.
Students, please follow your schedule for tomorrow, October 13th, 2020. It is a D-Day.
The day will begin regular time with the first period after morning announcements at 8:00 a.m.
All classes will meet remotely. Students should log into each class in their schedule using the standing link for each teacher.

Please check your school email frequently for important communications from your teachers and the school administration.
Students will follow our H day schedule, with classes beginning at 8:10 am remotely for all students.
Students should log into their teachers' standing class meeting links for each of their classes.
Any announcements will be sent out via the Remind app/email as usual.
BOCES programs will run as usual following our regular transportation schedule.
Athletic practices will occur following the planned times and protocols.
