One of the nicest things about local tag sales has been the chance discovery of something "quintessentially Croton".
One example has been a vintage Picciano Ceramics Christmas Tree or a dog-eared copy of Max Eastman's "Reflections on The Failure of Socialism".
And then there was this---snapped up by a friend in mint condition for the princely sum of a dollar- at the Croton Village Wide Tag Sale--LOUIS A. BRENAN, YES THAT LOUIS A. BRENNAN---a 1964 first edition copy of TREE OF ARROWS. He's ecstatic.
Meanwhile, his sister found some pottery that may be related to a 1970's Croton husband and wife team---but we need to do some research first. More perhaps this week.
All and all it was a very successful village wide tag sale....oh and did I mention he got his wife the cutest DeVaz denim jacket. You may remember this designer's name, who had a very brief moment in the early 80's....at least back in the city. See you next year.....
