HAWK MIGRATION SEASON

And so it has begun--the 2026 Hawk Migration Season. One of our favorite times of year .

Common migrating hawks in the Hudson Valley include:

Broad‑winged Hawk – often first in mid‑September
Sharp‑shinned Hawk – September–October
Cooper’s Hawk – September–October
Red‑tailed Hawk – October–November

And we have occasionally seen Harrier's out at the Croton Point above the landfill.
