First up, so how many of you played Candyland when you were little? We certainly did, and so when we spotted this vintage game at a local tag sale, we just had to get a photo.
For many of us, Candyland was the first real board game--aside from perhaps checkers--that we ever played. Designed in 1945 by Eleanor Abbot while she was recovering from polio, the game was bought by Milton Bradley and first published in 1949. You can read more about it at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Candyland
Next up, there's nothing like Irish Coffee served in vintage "putz house adorned" glasses from Anchor Hocking, circa 1970's; a gift from a friend.
Next, by special request, an oldie but goodie:
The 2020 Victorian Castle Putz castle by Howard Lamey---that year, the castle hosted the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor...and the local townfolk came out to greet the happy couple--as well as a ghostly knight...Again, click on the photos and links.
And by special request, a very early electric putz village fence.
We've seen these go for quite a bit on ebay when they come up--and they don't hit the market very often; click on the link, scroll down the page, courtesy of the late Tom Hull at the CARDBOARD CHRISTMAS FORUMS
TO THE READER WHO ASKED---I believe the house you are referring to was a "Twinkeltown" house....TWINKLETOWN HOUSES, COURTESY OF....Way back on Nov 23, 2010 I posted an H&H Sales house with white walls and green roof (H&H Sales Cottage White/Green).
