According to multiple reports, executives from General Motors and Ford did call President Donald Trump to thank him for imposing new tariffs on imported medium- and heavy-duty trucks. Trump stated on his Truth Social account that GM CEO Mary Barra and Ford Executive Chair Bill Ford personally called him to express their gratitude for the 25% tariff, which is set to take effect on November 1, 2025.
