Former Skid Row singer Johnny Solinger has reportedly died at the age of 55.
The performer passed away on Saturday, about a month after he told

Many people do, although most Large Scale railroads only operate during the summer months. NEW FROM OUR FRIENDS AT EFSP--ALL ABOUT MAE MARSH--Mae Marsh (1894-1968) was an American screen actress with a career spanning over 50 years and over 200 films. Among her memorable films are D.W. Griffith's silent classics Judith of Bethulia (1914), The Birth of a Nation (1915), and Intolerance: Love's Struggle Throughout the Ages (1916). A friend acquired her first vintage Nativity---and it's all Woolworth's, complete with the price tags. Time she said, in these crazy days, to bring back some family traditions....

Morgan, 72, passed away at her home in Croton-on-Hudson on May 11, 2021
after courageously fighting cancer for over two years. Penny loved
Westchester County and lived and worked in the area her entire adult
life. She graduated from Hiram College in Ohio in 1970 and taught Middle
School Science for a year before discovering her true professional

A Memorial Service will be held at St
Augustine's Episcopal Church at 6 Old Post Rd, N in Croton-on-Hudson at
2pm on Friday, July 9th. Donations can be made to St Augustine's, the American Cancer Society or Ageless Alliance (a national group focused on preventing elder abuse).
During the 1950s, Bromostampa was an Italian editor of film star and glamour postcards. Its Turin based address was Via Spotorno 2, but later on, the firm was also based in Milan. For this post we selected 25 cards of international stars although the focus is on the Italian cinema that was booming after the Second World War. The cards breathe the energy and vitality of that era: Va-va-voom!

The trendy epithet of choice these days is “racist,” which got quite a workout online here in Croton over the last few weeks. But after last week’s issue of The Gazette hit the stands, one resident commenting on social media reached into history to call one of the letter writers a “fascist.”
Using either term to shut down an opponent (or to discuss the Croton Fire Department) is both lazy and harmful to our community’s social fabric, but at least “fascist” has a link to Croton history.
Croton has a long association with radical causes. There are only three Americans buried in the Kremlin wall, and one of them is a former Croton resident. Dozens of other artists and writers living in Croton over the years were sympathetic to the communist cause.
It was during those decades when Croton was home to numerous pro-communist activists that fascism was the primary counterweight to communism in Europe. For many of those in the thick of politics, there was a mandatory choice between the two camps. This played out in the Spanish Civil War, and then with the rise of Hitler and Mussolini. The controverted speech in question was contained in a 2019 blog post, in which de Wahls wrote that “a woman is an adult human female (not an identity or feeling),” and that trans women are “biological males [who] choose to live as a woman, or believe they actually are women.” These are statements that almost every person knows to be true, but which have become unfashionable to say out loud in highly progressive subcultures. And so, when a handful of people raised a fuss about de Wahls’ work being sold in the RA gift shop, Academy officials not only purged de Wahl from their inventory earlier this month, but peacocked their reasons for doing so...........In backing down from its attempted cancelation of de Wahls, the RA now claims that “[a] plurality of voices, tolerance, and free thinking are at the core of what we stand for and seek to protect.” Whether or not this Road-to-Damascus conversion is sincere, these high-flown words glide over the fact that de Wahls’s views were never remotely “transphobic” to begin with, no matter what standard of “tolerance” one might choose to apply.
