LET THE SUNSHINE IN! CROTON UNITED SCORES YET ANOTHER SUCCESS ON OPEN GOVERNMENT

First, Croton United discovered--through the freedom of information process--the mayor's taxpayer funded health insurance, his time-sheet errors--and more. Today, as a a result of Croton United's advocacy, the mayor now pays for his own health insurance http://bit.ly/1E6tZMW

And now: LET THE SUNSHINE IN....AGAIN! CROTON UNITED SCORES YET ANOTHER SUCCESS ON OPEN GOVERNMENT

Croton United has championed the cause of transparency in village government since its formation, and during the November election last year, ran on a platform that advocated for numerous open government reforms, including video recording and broadcasting of Village Board work sessions. 

Croton United consistently rejected the board’s vague and facile excuses for its failure to videotape these meetings and has continued to advocate for open government reforms, as recently as the March 16, 2015 village board meeting, when the issue of video recording of work sessions was once again put before the board, which refused to even discuss the topic with the public.
