NEWS 6---EXCERPTED---ALBANY, NY (WRGB) — A Binghamton man pleaded guilty in federal court to making threats to kill President Trump earlier this week.

Jeffrey Scott Hamm, Jr., 33, from Binghamton, New York, pleaded guilty on September 16, to transmitting threats to injure another in interstate commerce.

Part of his guilty plea, Hamm admitted that on multiple dates in early 2026 he used his cellphone to access the Internet and post comments to an online video sharing platform threatening to kill or injure President Trump and ICE agents..........

First Assistant United States Attorney John A. Sarcone III stated: “Threats to kill or injure President Trump or any federal law enforcement officers in my District will not be tolerated. As soon as we learned that the defendant had posted these violent threats on the internet, FBI agents working with my Office quickly located Hamm and arrested him.”

"The American public needs to know online threats of violence are illegal and will not be tolerated," said Craig Tremaroli, Special Agent in Charge of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's Albany Field Office.
