Our young neighbor was also permitted to watch "THE PATRIOT EXTENDED CUT" with our movie club last week--- of course his father added that there was some historical and dramatic license taken with the content but warned that the battle scenes and blood were quite accurate.

"Look" he said as if he discovered the wheel for the first time, "That's the guy from Braveheart".......Indeed.....We do recommend the PATRIOT, EXTENDED CUT, AVAILABLE ON AMAZON.

AND FINALLY---FROM HISTORIC HUDSON VALLEY --You can have dinner inside an 18th-century tavern in Westchester this weekend, and the part I love is that the whole night is built around what a tavern actually was before it became a word we slap onto sports bars.  On August 8 and 9, Historic Hudson Valley is turning the Ferry House at Van Cortlandt Manor into Toast 250! Tavern Nights. The $65 ticket includes cornbread, a grazing board for the table, a chicken entrée, dessert and your choice of an alcoholic or nonalcoholic drink. There will be a fiddler playing while you eat, historic games and Revolutionary War trivia built around local stories. Because taverns in the 1700s were not just places to drink.
