Saratoga County man admits cyberstalking family of slain health care CEO hours after death---BY Spectrum News Staff Albany--PUBLISHED 2:58 PM ET Mar. 19, 2026

A Saratoga County man pleaded guilty Thursday to cyberstalking a family member of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson between Dec. 4-7, 2024, begining in the hours after the executive's murder in Manhattan.

Shane Daley, 40, of Galway, admitted to leaving a series of harassing and threatening voicemail messages to a work line belonging to a family member of Thompson in which he expressed satisfaction and stated the health care executive's children deserved the same violent fate, First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Sarcone III said.

Daley faces up to five years in prison and an up to $250,000 fine at sentencing on July 17, prosecutors said. MORE AT Man admits cyberstalking family of slain health care CEO
