But what has stayed with me most this week is Sheridan Gorman.
Sheridan was 18 years old, from Yorktown Heights in the Hudson Valley. She was a student, an athlete, and someone with her whole life ahead of her, deeply loved by her family, her friends, and her community. Her loss is an unimaginable tragedy, and for those who knew her best, it is a void that can never be filled.On the House Floor, I had the honor of recognizing Sheridan’s life and sharing her story with the country, not as a headline, but as a young woman whose future mattered. My family and I continue to keep the Gorman family in our prayers as they endure this heartbreaking loss.
