FROM THE MAILBOX---WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH THE TARRYTOWN LIGHTHOUSE VANDALISM ISSUE

Sorry but as of now, there is no publicly available update for the Tarrytown Lighthouse vandalism case. News coverage has not reported any developments beyond the initial arraignments and charges filed in June LAST YEAR. (THERE WAS ALSO A DATE SUPPOSEDLY IN AUGUST; SEE THE ARTICLE HERE)

Four teenagers were charged in connection with the May 31 vandalism and arson at the historic lighthouse.

  • Three suspects were arraigned in early June:

    • Elvin Ayavaca (18) and Richard Barrero (19) were charged with third-degree arson, burglary, and criminal mischief.  17-year-old was charged as a juvenile and arraigned in Youth Part Court.  A fourth 17-year-old suspect was expected to surrender but no public update confirms this occurred.

  • ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ELSE AVAILABLE AT PRESENT.
