SERVICE INFO & OBITUARY FOR DONALD J. DIVNEY

Donald J. Divney passed away on May 11th at the age of 95. He was born to Thomas J. and Marion Divney on December 5th, 1929 at St. Agnes Hospital in White Plains, NY and is a graduate of White Plains High School. Don most recently worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in 1992 after 25 years of service. Previously, he had a 20-year career with the Offices of the New York Central Railroad in NYC where he met the love of his life, Diane Marie Vivlamore. They married on October 13th, 1956 settling in Croton-on-Hudson, where they spent 68 years together and raised 5 children. Don was a communicant of Holy Name of Mary Parish and a member of Croton Seniors, Croton Caring, and American Legion. He loved gardening and the NY Rangers.

He was predeceased by his son Timothy, his brother Jackie Divney, sister Marion (Larry) Nemeth, brother Thomas (Doris) Divney and sister Barbara (Larry) Miller.

Don is survived by his wife Diane and children Brian (Lucia) of Eastchester, Gary (Carmen) of Cortlandt Manor, Susan (Charlie) Moro of White Plains, and Craig (Christine) of Wappingers Falls in addition to his 3 grandchildren, Cailin, Abigail and Billy, and his favorite little dog, Ike. He will be forever missed by all.

Visitation will be held at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home on Thursday, May 15th from 4pm to 8pm followed by a mass at Holy Name of Mary in Croton-on-Hudson on Friday, May 16th at 10am. Interment to follow at Bethel Cemetery in Croton-on-Hudson.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be to Croton Caring (www.crotoncaring.org) or SPCA of Briarcliff Manor (www.spcawestchester.org).
