Tex first attended school in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Croton on Hudson, NY where he attended Holy Name of Mary School. He then attended St. Agnes High School in NYC. Tex continued his education at Westchester Community College where he earned his associate's degree. After college, Tex served in the United States Army for two years.
Tex was employed by Con Edison as a computer repair person until he retired in 2000 after 35 years of service.
Tex married his wife of 49 years, Audrey Hessler, on May 14, 1976. They had two sons, Philip and Russell.
Tex was an active member of the Croton on Hudson Fire Department where he was loved as admired by all. He served as Chief of the Department from 1996-2001. He also served as Deputy Chief, Secretary, Chairperson of Fire Fair, and the Donation Fund. Tex was also an active member in the American Legion of Croton.
Tex is survived by his wife, Audrey, his sons Phil (Lori) and Russell (Melissa) and well as 4 grandchildren, Jake (Lizette), Josh, Emma, Owen.
He was predeceased by his parents, Muriel and Philip, his aunts Anna and Catherine, and his uncle Ferd.
Services will be at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, Croton-on-Hudson, Wednesday and Thursday, May 21st and 22nd 4-8pm. Burial will be at Bethel Cemetery, Friday, May 23, 2025, at 11am.
