MORE FABULOUS VINTAGE WEBSITES, FINDS, ETC. FROM EVERYTHING CROTON

As always, some oldies but goodies, special requests, new finds and more. Click on the links and photos.

First up, a wonderful repro--worth re-visting--of a vintage Made in Japan "green spottie" putz house by artisan Lynn. The miniature Santa is celluloid and from the 1940's.  That's followed by an ad from the 1940's drama, Since You Went Away--although your editor has seen it a dozen times or more, it's always worth another look. This film is a definite one for your movie "bucket list". The cast is amazing: Claudette Colbert, Jennifer Jones, a growing up Shirley Temple, Monty Wooley, Joseph Cotton, and more. Here's a YouTube tribute https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A2lIMEmRqNw

And finally, worth revisiting, a great still from GIANT, featuring James Dean and Elizabeth Taylor. Click on the photos and enjoy!

We've talked about this one before but it is always worth mentioning again - The Night Before Christmas by Clement C. Moore.

This Charles Graham version is circa 1870, and the first representation of Santa Claus dressed in a red cloth coat trimmed with white fur.

The type used in this edition is the seldom seen anymore "Ringlet".
