A LETTER FROM CAROLYN BUCHANAN WHITING REGARDING THE PROPOSED POLICE DEPARTMENT TERMINATION STUDY

For people still living in Croton:  The Village board wants to study disbanding our wonderful police department and outsource policing.  

A terrible idea!  Croton was named the best city to live in NY by 24/7 Wall Street.   As mentioned in the article “Croton-on-Hudson is one of the safest communities in New York. There were just 48 violent crimes for every 100,000 village residents in 2017, about an eighth of the national violent crime rate of 383 per 100,000.”  We are safe because of our police department.  Do not disband our local police.  

Please email the board and tell them to stop this inquiry now and not waste a penny or minute of time on this terrible idea. Email to BoardofTrustees@crotononhudson-ny.gov.
