THANK YOU CROTON UNITED 4 THE ALERT: CHURCHES, HOUSES OF WORSHIP, RESIDENCES, BUSINESS TO PAY MORE, GARBAGE COLLECTION

FROM THE CROTON UNITED FB PAGE - The agenda for the village board TUESDAY, May 26th work session is out: http://crotononhudson.novusagenda.com/agen…/CoverSheet.aspx…

We are particularly concerned with item #2, which is intended to revise Croton's solid waste pickup policies. Of note is that, by the village's own numbers, commercial pickup is going to cost more for many of our businesses, cost less for our larger multi-family buildings, and residential bulk pick-up will no longer be free. Our schools and churches will also pay, whereas previously most didn't. Croton United encourages you to review the material, as we are all affected to some degree. Comments welcome.

  1. These people don't have a clue how hard it is for our churches and businesses to hold on.

  4. This is a tax increase by default. It's a good thing they kept under the tax cap by increasing fees for everything and now this. You 'll need that check, lol lol lol.

    1. Can PAY-AS-YOU-THROW (already discussed by the board) be far behind???

  5. The village is aware that some local businesses in the upper village that have bypassed the village completely and engaged the services of private haulers who do it cheaper. I suspect we will be seeing more of that.

  8. They can do whatever they like. I'll keep doing whatever I like. The vast majority of people pretty much do that now. Businesses are already "sharing" their garbage with friends who don't put out much and residents who don't want to pay more can always find a way. it's been going on here for years. Kind of like with all the illegal apartments, additions, etc.
