To the right, a fabulous albeit strange 1939 ad for Chesterfield cigarettes featuring none other than Errol Flynn and Bette Davis--"-The Private Lives of Elizabeth & Essex"--one of the best films of all time. Which reminds us, we've updated the MAD ADS set of images at Flickr--all those odd, politically incorrect, or downright funny vintage advertisements that we've collected over the years. Davis was amazing in this role. Everything about her acting was perfect. Flynn was equally as convincing and made a dashing Essex. It does seem odd to see them smoking in the little thumbnail in the ad though.
ReplyDeleteMORE VINTAGE AWESOME GOODNESS. THANKS FOR THE PLASTICS WEBSITE! It's just what I need.
