We get so many compliments, comments and emails about the "vintage" village series we have been posting here at EverythingCroton since 2009--but the real credit goes to the hardworking volunteers of The Croton Historical Society. Their dedication to the preservation of our history--its architecture, folklore, and so much more--extends well beyond simply maintaining the "archives"--and we're all the better for it. Without their efforts, and the volunteers and historians that went before them, EverythingCroton would not be able to bring you these regular forays into Croton's rich history.
Meet some of the society's volunteers here. Click on the photo:

It's great to see the historical society's volunteers get the recognition they deserve. All over the village, I have spoken to many residents who really appreciate their exhibits, newsletters, the position on the Harmon sales building (saved, pinted, fixed and rented thank God) and the society's well maintained records that give average citizens the chance to learn about Croton. The Masses exhibit in my opinion and the Croton Portrait of a Moment Past exhibit were among the best ever produced. Many thanks to all you guys. This is a great photo that says so much.
