Welcome
to Everything Croton, a collection of all things Croton--our history, our
homes, our issues, our businesses, our schools--in short, EVERYTHING CROTON.
If you're not yet a member of the Croton Historical Society,
you're missing out on their quarterly publication: THE
CROTON HISTORIAN. This informative publication always entertains--it
also deepens your appreciation of why we live in Croton in the first place and
is a perk that comes with membership. Download the membership form here: http://www.crotononhudson-ny.gov/Public_Documents/CrotonHudsonNY_WebDocs/HistoricalSociety/HSMembership.pdf
As promised,
EverythingCroton is now featuring selected pages from vintage editions
of The Croton Historian for your reading pleasure: this week's proverbial blast
from the past comes from the FALL OF 2010, People & Places.
Click on the scans. Enjoy. You may also have an interest in http://www.everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2013/03/the-vintage-croton-historian-spring.html
What a fantastic historical society we have. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteIt's depressing to see that landfill in operation. My mom says that's why it was all the more disgusting to have seen so many village boards, including this one, hot for more garbage, construction debris and most recently ash transfer at the old Metro E site. Enough with the garbage already. We're free of it at last thanks to the grassroots efforts of Croton's citizens. NEVER AGAIN!
ReplyDeleteyes we are. hopefully for good.
