The blog continues to get questions about certain facebook pages, protocols, substacks, etc. Truth is many of us are not on social media----and such questions are best directed to the site itself or the page admin. On the issue of bots and how to recognize them, however, there's plenty out there---and we're happy to share---good luck, however, in your research....

How to recognize a bot---Common signs include: Suspicious or incomplete profile info--Very high posting frequency--Generic or repetitive comments--Inconsistent grammar or odd phrasing--Excessive friend requests--Membership in many unrelated groups---Bots often leave strange, irrelevant, or overly enthusiastic or bombastic comments especially on large pages, political, or viral posts.

A reader asks: When was the first "stuff the truck" event for Croton Caring?

Response: Don't know the exact year but this has been an ongoing event for at least ten.  The last one was 3/7 at Shoprite.
