Over 50 top U.S. medical schools have voluntarily committed to require a minimum number of nutrition education hours in their curriculums, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) said. 53 schools in 31 states agreed to require at least 40 hours of such education or offer an equivalent beginning in the 2026 fall semester, according to the statement from HHS.
