PRAY FOR PEACE IN IRAN, A LETTER FROM JESSICA DIECKMAN

To the Editor,

We should all pray for peace in Iran. Iran has been under Muslim terrorist rule for 47 years, and the Islamic regime occupying the country is the biggest global funder of terrorism world-wide. Iran supported and contributed to the funding of the October 7th, 2023 terrorist attack that killed 1,200 people and saw 254 hostages taken (including 12 Americans) in Israel.

Former United States National Security Advisor and Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice has shared support for the president’s strikes in Iran, and she has even described her first-hand observation that many decades of terrorism have come directly from Iran. She said the president needs to make them completely incapable of bringing any harm to anyone again, that they need to be ‘neutered’ of all their destructive capabilities.

Watching the Ayatollah and his followers publicly chant ‘death to America and Israel,’ I can easily agree with her conclusions. Iran recently killed 30,000 people protesting against their terrorist overlords. In addition to the economic instability and government mismanagement, grievances of the 91 million people living under terrorism include:

Women being tortured and killed for not wearing certain clothing; restrictions on speaking against the government; women being beaten for being the victims of rape; young girls being beaten if their clothing is not worn correctly; severe social and gender discrimination and educational inequality.

I have been following an Iranian-Canadian politician and activist, Goldie Ghamari, whose family fled Iran in 1979. I recommend people look her up on YouTube and listen to her compelling story. Also very worthwhile are the writings (some at moderndiplomacy.eu) of Iranian-born human-rights activist Elchin Hatami, who describes the nature of, and origins of, the Iranian government’s despicable conduct over past decades.

Iran is enduring a time of seismic change, it is hoped that the people of Iran can turn their country towards a parliamentary democracy. It would be good if all the people who have been protesting for a free Palestine would muster some consistency and exhibit the same support for a free Iran. It has yet to be seen if these folks would share that sentiment.

Regardless, the Iranian people and the world have had enough of terrorism and brutal regime rule in Iran. Since operation Epic Fury began, and the Ayatollah has been killed, millions of people across the world have been thanking America and Israel, publicly dancing and celebrating with hopes for a future they didn’t think could come in their lifetime.

Sincerely,

Jessica Dieckman
