FOUR FROM THE MAILBOX

Getting a lot of questions about Bohlmann Towers public housing project in Peekskill for a "student project". It has been suggested that reader instead visit the assorted Peekskill community facebook pages for the most current information as well as the archives of local print media...and good luck.

The latest venture at Croton Point Park involves solar panels over the parking lot (see here). This reminded the reader about the methane energy plant and the fish farm proposals of years ago. Got anything?

Response: Let it suffice to say that studies were undertaken, money was spent, and the tilapia fish farm went nowhere; ditto for the landfill gas producing energy system...suggest you start with local print media archives and the NYSDEC website. I believe The Gazette also covered this in some detail, but the paper does not have an online presence. Contact that editor at thegazette.us@gmail.com

A reader is seeking info about an "old time folk music kit" she once found here...but misplaced the link. Help!

Response: You probably mean this--CROTON'S LEE HAYS---of Weavers fame----and his FOLK SONG KIT; go to EverythingCroton: MORE ON LEE HAYS AND THAT "FOLK SONG KIT"

A reader really enjoys the Croton Shakespeare Festival posts---when was their last year?

Response: Not entirely sure---but believe it was circa 1983/1984. Contact the Croton Historical Society directly (they have quite the file) as well as the Croton Shakespeare Festival facebook pages; there may be more than one.
