SOME CHILDHOOD MEMORIES---SOAKY BUBBLE BATH!

If you grew up in the late 50's or early 60's, chances are you remember these: SOAKYs by Colgate--bubble bath for kids (AND SHAMPOO TOO) in your favorite cartoon or seasonal character bottles. These were immensely popular and are very collectible today--CLICK ON THE PHOTOs BELOW.

We were reminded of all this at a private indoor moving sale we attended. They must have really liked Wendy Witch; there were at least three bottles on the kitchen table. A friend snapped them all up despite the faded color. (There were vintage Lionel trains too going out the door when we arrived---more train stuff tomorrow via Garden Railroading and Paul Race).

Google's AI program says:
In the 1960s, Colgate-Palmolive originally sold Soaky Bubble Bath bottles for approximately $0.59 each. Today, these plastic character bottles are highly collectible, with modern prices ranging from $5 to over $150, depending on the character's rarity and the bottle's condition.

Estimated Value of Popular Soaky Characters (2026)--The following list reflects current market values for individual bottles in good vintage condition:

Premium & Rare CharactersPaul McCartney (The Beatles): ~$150.00 – $275.00
Batman (1966): ~$46.97 – $94.00
Superman: ~$90.00
Universal Monsters (Frankenstein, Mummy, etc.): Historically high; individual mint bottles or sets can command significant premiums.

There will be more. For now, again click on the photos and enjoy. See some fab offerings at EBAY for Soaky collectibles. And check out the black and white 1960's Youtube commercial for the Popeye and Bluto Soakies at Popeye Soaky Bubble Bath Figure Toys 1960's TV Commercial HD
