Stanley "Jack" Pezanowski-Mr. Pez- passed away on September 14th, just
shy of his 90th birthday. He was born at home on Mt. Airy to George and
Alexandra Pezanowski on October 28, 1927. He was a lifelong resident of
Croton-on-Hudson, leaving only to serve in the Navy in Hawaii during
WWII. Jack owned and operated his own roofing and siding company for
over 40 years and he was highly regarded for both his skills and his
generous nature, always helping those who needed a hand. He was also a
proud member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 137
and worked on many building projects in the NY area.
Jack was best
known and loved for his sense of humor and his harmless pranks which
kept his friends and family laughing until his final days. The party up
in Heaven is certainly merrier now with Jack as a guest. He read the
newspaper every day and he enjoyed watching NY Giants and Ohio State
football games as well as the Yankees. The most important thing in
Jack's life was his family. He leaves behind the love of his life, Dodie
(Dymes) Pezanowski; beloved children Elaine (Jim) Loft; Kevin (Beth)
Pezanowski; Karen (Sean) Higman; and cherished grandchildren Gretchen
and Hallie Loft; Abigail and Leah Pezanowski; Ryan (Claire), Matt
(Samantha) and Caitie Higman, as well as his dear nephew Bob (Liz)
Pezanowski and his neighbor and friend Eric Bishop, who has helped him
so much over the years. He was predeceased by his parents, his twin
sister Helen, sister Henrietta and his brothers Alex, George, Stephen
and Joseph.
Visitation will be on Monday, September 18, 2017 from 2-4
& 7-9pm at Edward F. Carter Funeral Home, 41 Grand St. in Croton.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 19th
at 10AM Holy Name of Mary Church also in Croton followed by private
interment. In lieu of flowers please make donations in Jack's name to
the Croton Historical Society, 1 Van Wyck Street. Croton-on-Hudson, NY
