REMEMBERING IRVING BERLIN

Die-hard vintage Christmas collectors that we are, we couldn't let this day pass without remembering the great Irving Berlin, who wrote that quintessential holiday classic, White Christmas, and who died this date in 1989 at age 101. (Click on the photo for the sheet music.)

For those who don't know, Berlin also wrote God Bless America, which would become Kate Smith's signature song, as well as Alexander's Ragtime Band, and other familiar songs too numerous to mention. Read more about Berlin here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Irving_Berlin

Simply one of the best American composers ever.  YOU MAY ALSO ENJOY READING http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/2017/06/remembering-kate-smith.html
