Four local children from the Cortlandt School of Performing Arts sang in French as the children's chorus for the Taconic Opera's production of Bizet's "Carmen"in White Plains. The children's rehearsal conductor was Carol Arrucci, owner of the music school. "Our music school has arranged for teens to perform amazing shows in NYC and children's choirs in local venues such as The Paramount Hudson Valley. It is important to me that our kids get the experience to sing or play music with professionals. It's inspirational!" A professional ensemble of instrumentalists, soloists from the Tri-State area and a complete opera chorus completed the experience. Travis Ramirez, an aspiring opera singer at CSPA and Hen Hud High School senior, also performed a main baritone role, La Dancaire, in the opera.

Cortlandt School of Performing Arts (CSPA) is a fantastic school! Nurturing, teaching kids how to perform and experience music and performing arts, and appreciate it!! Hannah has gone from wallflower to a real performer with stage presence in just two years!! Thanks CSPA!
ReplyDeleteThere are many music schools in Croton, but this one is the best. The number of instructors is around 25-30 and they are all NYS certified K-12 teachers and professional musicians. A true music education for all instruments and voice.
